It is the responsibility of teachers of the West Chester Area School District to maintain their professional certification status through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).

*************IMPORTANT CHANGES*************

PDE has recently opened the Teacher Information Management System (TIMS), which includes an online application for Instructional Add-On Certificates, Instructional II, and Master’s Equivalency, and will be replacing the Teacher Certification System (TCS).

Please visit the Teacher Information Management System (TIMS) site for more detailed information and to stay abreast of relevant system updates.

At the present time, PDE is requiring online applications only and will no longer accept paper applications. Once the online submission is completed, you will be prompted to print a cover sheet, which should be mailed to PDE along with your transcripts to ensure your paperwork is connected with your online application.

Act 48 progress will continue to be monitored through the PLMS/MyLearningPlan.
