2022-23 Fall Family Survey Results

  • 2022 Fall Family Survey Results

    Dear WCASD Families,

Thank you very much to all those who completed the West Chester Area School District's Fall Survey in November of the 2022-2023 school year. We received almost 3,000 responses and about 700 comments, which provided incredibly valuable feedback for the district.

Your insights showed us that we have some exceptional areas of celebration such as:

    • 90% of respondents agreed that their child's school fosters a positive, supportive and inclusive environment. We were happy to see that the majority of our families feel that their child has a sense of belonging and experience support within their school. We talk often about the importance of building a school culture and community and seeing those efforts reflected in this response helps us to know that we’re on the right path.

We also have room to grow, and we have been working on reinforcing our practices to address improvement areas such as:

    • 28% of respondents agreed that their child has experienced bullying in some form while in school. Although we see that most families agree that their child’s school offers a positive, supportive and inclusive environment, we also need to address that almost 30% of families agreed that their child has experienced some form of bullying. We are increasing our efforts to address this concern and continue to foster positive school communities through programming that emphasizes the development of social-emotional skills as well as student accountability.

Please feel free to review the complete results from the WCASD Family Fall Survey on our district website.

As we look toward the end of the year, we want to know if our efforts this year have further improved areas of concern and if there are additional areas we need to focus on as we move into the coming school year.

The Spring WCASD Survey for families will be shared on Monday, May 15, 2023, and remain open until Friday, May 26, 2023. We sincerely hope you will consider completing the survey again, or possibly for the first time so that we can continue to address your feedback and strengthen our district.
