Gifted Program Information for Parents

  •

Welcome to Families Interested in the Gifted Program

We are a group of parents who work closely with teachers, students and administrators towards the best possible gifted education program.

Our organization, the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) for Gifted Education is the PTO for families of gifted children. We have members from all schools in the West Chester Area School District.

There are representatives for each school, for this school they are student reps  Liz Holms and Keagan Clark. They can be reached by email care off Gifted Resource Teacher Ms. Williams at kwilliams@wcasd.net.

We meet regularly during the school year to share information, discuss programs and host guest speakers. Meetings are open to all. School representatives, gifted teachers and administrators are active participants in the meetings.

If your child has been recommended to, or newly accepted into, the gifted program we are here to answer any questions and share our experiences.

We advocate for the children and bring up questions when things may need to be changed.

We provide grants to support work of the gifted resource teachers.

We are recognized as a powerful voice in our district.

As student information is confidential, we are dependant on families to first contact us; we have no other way to know which families are in the program.

For more details, including meeting dates and times, please visit the gifted website at http://www.wcasd.net/curriculum/gifted/pac.htm.

The WCASD program is administered by Dr. Rose Marie Salsbury at the Spellman Administration Building. Online at http://www.wcasd.net/curriculum/gifted.asp or rsalsbury@wcasd.net.
