Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Penn State University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Drexel University. She has more than 20 years of professional experience in both the private and nonprofit industries. She is currently the President/Owner of KRF Consultants, LLC. Prior to this she led the finance, accounting, compliance and development functions at the Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation. She has also worked as a consultant providing financial and regulatory services to public utility clients, including as a manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Karen and her husband Jeff have resided in West Chester since 2000. Their three children attended WCASD schools and are all graduates of West Chester East High School. A long-time community and school volunteer, she served as a coach, manager and treasurer for 15 years for teams with the Greater Chester Valley Soccer Association and also held numerous volunteer positions at her children’s schools, including three years as President of the East Girls Soccer Booster Club. She believes the school board has a responsibility to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for students while also working to maintain and improve the district’s high quality of education.

Karen Fleming was elected to the School Board in November 2021 for a four-year term. Karen was elected to serve as the President for 2024.
