Region 3, term expires December 2027

Gary holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova with minors in Mathematics & Business Administration, and a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. His 40 year-career began with 16 years in the Aerospace industry as an engineer, project engineer, and Spacecraft program manager for GE Aerospace, Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin working on DSCS, Landsat, UARS & GPS satellite programs. He has spent the last 24 years working locally as a technical project manager in Information Technology.

Gary volunteers in a number of capacities throughout the community. He currently serves on the board of West Chester United Soccer Club/ Penn Fusion Soccer Academy, West Chester Area Sports Association, West Glen HOA, and Middletown Archery Club. He also volunteered in recent years on the Westtown Township open space, comprehensive plan committees, Oakbourne park master plan, Chester County Visitor Bureau, Henderson and Rustin High School Sports Booster committees, and as a volunteer coach for a number of local youth athletic leagues including West Chester United Soccer Club - travel teams, West Chester Lacrosse, Malvern Basketball League, and the YMCA. He also is a longtime volunteer in WCASD for initiatives such as the Budget Task Force, Redistricting, Start time, facility use & sports booster policies, and the WCRBA - West Chester Rustin Booster Alliance which continues to make complex improvements at Rustin HS (pathway lighting, stadium lighting, stadium sound system, concessions building, and softball dugouts).

Gary and his wife Cindy have resided in WCASD area since 1985. They have two grown children who attended WCASD, and five grandchildren. He believes that an effective school board sets the vision & goals of the district and evaluates the results. The challenge is to perform this within increasing financial and regulatory constraints. To be effective and successful, the board needs to work as a collaborative group and keep a clear, two-way communication with the community. This will ensure the continuing success of WCASD.

Gary was re-elected to the Board in November 2023 to serve a third four-year term after being initially appointed to the Board in June of 2014 to finish the term vacated by Linda Raileanu. He chairs the Property & Finance Committee, serves on the Personnel and Policy Review Committee and is vice president of the board.
