Karen holds a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Elementary Education from Immaculata College, an M.A. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Immaculata College and an Ed.D in Educational Leadership and Administration from Immaculata University.

She graduated from B. Reed Henderson High School and started her teaching career in the WCASD right after college. Her career spanned 36 years with a total of 20 years in the district.

As a teacher, Karen believed that she made a difference in students’ lives and it is her hope that she can continue to make a difference in students’ lives as a school board director. “I want to work together with the other school board members as a team to continue to have a school district that represents all the constituents well in a fiscally responsible way so that all students receive an excellent education.”

Karen Herrmann was re-elected to the School Board for a third term in November 2023; she chairs the Personnel Committee and serves on the Property and Finance Committee.
