Daryl was born and raised in West Chester and graduated from Henderson Sr. High. He earned a B.S. in Education from West Chester University and an M. Ed. from Concordia University Portland, Oregon in Advanced Studies in Special Education. Daryl has taught students with a wide variety of strengths and challenges in the U.S. and abroad. He currently teaches 5th grade Emotional Support at Collegium Charter School. Daryl serves on the Diversity, Family, and Community committee at Collegium and has participated in the Strategic Planning Committee and the School Improvement Plan.
Daryl is a member of the Board of Directors of the Charles A. Melton Arts and Education Center, formerly known as the West Chester Community Center, where he serves as the chair of the Advisory Council and on the Governance Committee.
Daryl and his husband Ed live in East Goshen and are parents of 3 adult children and have one granddaughter. Daryl and Ed enjoy volunteering in the community, and have participated in local, regional, and national peace rallies, vigils, and marches.
Daryl believes in advocating for students and collaborating with parents, teachers, support staff, administrators and community stakeholders. Daryl was re-elected to serve a second four-year term in November 2023. Daryl serves on the Pupil Services Committee and is the chair of the Education Committee.
