Mary C Howse Elementary School ‘Rocks around the World’
Mary C Howse Elementary School (MCH) ‘Rocks around the World’ while celebrating what makes every student and staff member unique.
Students were instructed to discuss with their family members stories of their heritage and culture. MCH Principal Dr. Steve Catrambone explained, “your culture is a part of who you are. It’s the way you and your family do things.”
Students decorated white rocks in school with colorful drawings of native flags, food, celebrations, family members, friends, and pets. The students and staff placed their rocks outdoors in the landscape in the front of the school for all to see during a rock placing ceremony.
“We wanted our students to learn the many cultures that make up the Mary C Howse School family,” said Principal Catrambone.” It goes along with our school theme of One World, One Family, One School.”
