Renowned Artist Nicolas Santoleri Inducted into East High School Hall of Fame

West Chester East High School proudly inducted acclaimed artist Nicolas Santoleri, Class of 1975, into its Hall of Fame this past fall. The celebration honored Santoleri’s outstanding artistic achievements and lasting impact on the art world, with students, staff, family, and friends in attendance.
The East High School Hall of Fame recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions to society, and Santoleri’s illustrious career as a nationally recognized watercolor artist exemplifies this legacy. His works, known for their nostalgic and intricate depictions of landscapes, architecture, and portraits, have been featured in galleries, universities, corporate collections, and institutions such as PNC Bank, AstraZeneca, and Philadelphia City Hall.
During the ceremony, Santoleri shared inspiring words with East High School students, “Embrace the opportunities and mentors around you. The journey can be challenging, but the pursuit of your dreams is always worth it.”
His remarks resonated deeply with the students, particularly those in the National Art Honor Society (NAHS), whose officers played a key role in the event.
The celebration included performances by a student music quartet, adding to the event’s atmosphere of appreciation for the arts. The ceremony concluded with a reception, where attendees had the opportunity to personally congratulate Santoleri and reflect on his contributions.
A self-taught artist, Santoleri has spent over 25 years mastering watercolor painting, refining his craft through continued education at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and as a member of the Philadelphia Sketch Club. His journey from West Chester East High School graduate to internationally recognized artist serves as an inspiration to current students, demonstrating the power of passion and perseverance.
