WCASD Welcomes Katie Walker to Strengthen Strategy and Community Partnerships

The West Chester Area School District (WCASD) is pleased to announce that Katie Walker will join the District this August as its Supervisor of Strategic Initiatives and District Partnerships.

In this newly established role, Walker will help coordinate key District initiatives and build partnerships that support WCASD students, staff, families, and the broader community.

Walker brings more than 20 years of experience leading nonprofit and membership-based organizations, advancing strategic priorities, supporting boards and executive leadership, and building partnerships across the public, nonprofit, education, and business sectors. Throughout her career, she has led complex initiatives, developed philanthropic support, coordinated community programs, and helped organizations turn their priorities into meaningful action.

 “Katie brings a wealth of community leadership experience to WCASD,” said Dr. David Christopher, Superintendent. “I had the opportunity to work with Katie when she was the President of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce. I am so excited to have her working with us to improve our connections to area businesses and other community partners.” 

A familiar and respected leader within the West Chester community, Walker previously served as President of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce from 2021 to 2025, providing executive leadership for an organization representing approximately 600 member businesses and organizations. Walker most recently served as Senior Director of Development for the Chester County Food Bank, where she leads fundraising and partnership efforts, manages teams across development, marketing, and volunteer services, and cultivates relationships with corporate leaders, philanthropic partners, and community stakeholders.

As Supervisor of Strategic Initiatives and District Partnerships, Walker’s work will include cultivating relationships with community organizations, local businesses, civic leaders, and other partners to expand opportunities and resources across the District. She will also serve as the District liaison to the West Chester Area Education Foundation and to the Parent Teacher Organization Committee, helping connect community engagement, fundraising, recognition, and partnership efforts with WCASD priorities.

Her appointment reflects WCASD’s continued commitment to thoughtful implementation of District priorities, meaningful community engagement, and partnerships that create lasting benefits for students, staff, families, and the broader West Chester community.
