Special Education
The West Chester Area School District believes every child can learn and deserves the support to reach their personal best. Our Department of Pupil Services brings together counselors, psychologists, nurses, caseworkers, and other caring professionals to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth while connecting families with helpful resources.
For students with disabilities, we provide a full range of Special Education services for about 1,500 children across our 17 schools, along with programs offered through the Chester County Intermediate Unit and Approved Private Schools.
WCASD Special Education Plan
WCASD’s Special Education Plan (2024-2027) outlines our commitment to providing every eligible student with a quality education. Reviewed every three years, the plan explains the services and supports available in our schools, as well as those we access through partners beyond the district.
