National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) Training

National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) training was held in Doylestown August 14th-18th. Greeters Tom Aughey and Tom Bucco were in attendance along with other campus safety officers, school administrators, current police officers as well as retired police officers.  The 40-hour training course based on NASRO’s Triad Model of school based safety. The topics covered were:

  11. Behavioral Health (mental Health Suicide and Substance Abuse)
  12. Behavioral Threat Assessment
  13. Developing and Supporting Successful Relationships with Diverse Students
  14. Verbal De-Escalation
  15. School Emergency Operations Planning: Navigating a School Crisis
  16. Armed Assailant Response

The attendees also gained insights into how to establish good working relationships with school administrators and staff.

Completion of the training results in an IADLEST (International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards) Certificate.  We are confident that this training will support us in our daily mission to keep our community safe.
