Registration Information

Welcome to the West Chester Area School District!

Dear West Chester Area School District Parents,

Welcome to the West Chester Area School District! Kindergarten is an exciting step in your child’s educational journey.

To begin the registration process, please log on to www.wcasd.net and click on the New Student Registration icon. To confirm what school your child will attend, please click on Community and select District Map of Schools & Townships.

To help make the registration process as seamless as possible, please have the following:

  • Child’s birth certificate
  • Two proofs of residency: one must be a copy of a current lease or mortgage statement/deed and the second may be a current utility bill, tax bill, drivers license, etc.
  • Home address and township of residency
  • Previous school or preschool information (if applicable)
  • Up to five emergency contacts (other than parent or guardian)
  • Medical information (health insurance, allergies, child’s physician & dentist, etc.)
  • Child’s current physical, immunization and dental records

Please be sure to upload all documentation into the registration portal before final submission. Once you finish the online portion, your child’s school will contact you. Be assured that you will receive numerous emails from your child’s school regarding upcoming dates and activities.

The West Chester Area School District assesses all incoming kindergarten students to gain greater understanding of them as a new learner and to ensure they are placed in the best possible classroom environment. This procedure provides our teams with an opportunity to get to know your child before they begin their school year. Your school will be in touch with more detailed information about their kindergarten assessment dates. 

In August, you will receive the name of your child’s kindergarten teacher and bus transportation information on the Parent Portal. If you have any additional questions, please contact your child’s school.
