Equity: Access, Opportunity, and Support

Dr. Brown engages with students

The West Chester Area School District is committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, belonging, agency, and leadership, where each individual’s authentic identity is respected, valued, and celebrated. By cultivating an environment where all students feel seen, heard, and supported, we empower them to reach their full potential.

We will work to ensure that every student has equitable access to a brave and safe learning environment, meaningful and engaging educational experiences, and multiple pathways to success. Through this commitment, we help students build confidence, develop critical skills, and become compassionate, capable leaders in their communities and beyond.

Building a Culture of Belonging

Developing Agency and Leadership

WCASD’s Equity Teams empower students, staff, and leaders to take an active role in fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging. Through district-wide and school-based teams—including Equity Advocates, Building E-Teams (BELT), District Equity Leadership Team (DELT), and Student Equity Teams (SET) — members collaborate to identify challenges, drive meaningful change, and ensure all voices are heard. These teams provide opportunities for leadership, advocacy, and action, equipping individuals with the skills and agency to create lasting impact in their schools and communities.
