    Good afternoon GES Families!

    I'm writing today with an update on the construction progress of Greystone Elementary School. Despite the weather, things are moving along nicely! We are on track to open our school on time in August. Included here is a link for a brief video tour, and you'll see that among other things, framing for the large library window is complete, cabinets are in some of the classrooms, and flooring will be installed upstairs soon. So if you like, take a tour with me and Mr. Mark Groves, Project Manager for GES construction,  and to find out our official school color, too!     Greetings Future Greystone Elementary Families!

    It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself as the principal of Greystone Elementary School. I cannot wait to open our new school and work with our Greystone students, parents, faculty and staff. Together, we have a tremendous opportunity to create a school community that is everything we would want for our kids. There is much for us to do between now and our opening in August, but together, we can do it!

    While there is great enthusiasm for becoming part of a brand-new school, I realize that many of our students will be entering Greystone Elementary from district schools that they love. Please know that in addition to ensuring the final preparations for our building and staff, I will be working closely with our students and families to form new friendships and bonds that will be at the cornerstone of our foundation at Greystone.  All of our schools are terrific, and Greystone will be another that will build an excellent reputation.  I look forward to creating that excitement with you and your children. 

    As many of you may know, I have been the principal at WC East High School for the past eight years. I am very proud of East and thankful for all of the support and trust I’ve enjoyed from that school community during my tenure. I look forward to taking all that I have learned not only from my time at East, but from my 22 years in education and leading Greystone as principal. I also look forward to learning and growing in my new role.

    On a more personal note, I love West Chester. I’ve lived here for the past 15 years with my wife, Christa, and my two great kids, Jack and Charlotte. Jack will be a first grader at Greystone this coming year! So when I promise you that I will take care of your kids as if they were my own, I mean that quite literally!

    Like me, I am sure you are all excited to actually see our new school!  To get a glimpse of it today, I have linked a video tour here that was created about a week ago: January GES Walk-through. I plan to do a video walk-through once a month for you in order to keep you posted on progress.

    I would love to get our families involved as we build our new school community. Click here to help us decide on the Greystone school color: GES School Color Selection. There are five great options, so I’m hoping you can take a little time and together with the kids, indicate which one you like. We’ll tally votes and go from there. The poll will close on Friday, February 12 and we will plan to announce the results shortly thereafter.
