High School Program

  • Our Curriculum

The design of the high school cyber curriculum allows students to have great flexibility as they work toward their post-secondary goals and pursue life-long interests.  While all students must meet the graduation requirements outlined for them, the path to meet the requirements can vary significantly.  As part of the WCASD, students are also able to take dual enrollment courses in partnership with West Chester University. With nearly 70 courses to pick from in a variety of disciplines, students will be able to find a class that interests them.  Each year, the WC Cyber Program will continue to grow and add more variety to our course selection guide allowing students to continue their studies in more advanced courses.

In all of our high school courses, content will be released to students in modules. Each module should take the student about two weeks to complete, and the teachers will provide a recommended pacing guide to ensure that all students stay on track to meet the expectations of the course.  Students will naturally progress more quickly in some classes than in others, depending on their own interests and comfort level with the materials.

    Our Teachers

The faculty of the WC Cyber Program are all full-time WCASD educators who have participated in intensive training to learn how to teach and assess adolescents in a cyber learning environment.  The teachers are experts in their field and use research-based instructional approaches to ensure that all students can achieve their personal best. At the high school level, students can take a variety of courses and will have the opportunity to interact with amazing teachers from all three of our high schools.

    Sample Student Day

The WC Cyber program is designed to use a flexible schedule that meets the needs of our students.  At the high school level, students may opt to take some classes online and others in person.  In a cyber class, most activities are asynchronous, allowing the students to move along at their own pace.  There are times that the students will need to be “live” with our teachers and their classmates.  To give a better sense of what a typical day could look like for a full-time high school cyber student, please refer to the sample schedule below.  Students who would like a part-time cyber schedule should work with their counselor to design a schedule that best fits their needs.
