July 29 Update: Broad Summary of Initial Proposed Reopening Plan for WCASD for 2020-21 School Year:

    • Begin the year with Remote Learning 2.0 - Improved over last spring, including more synchronous (live) instruction. Instruction will be recorded providing flexibility, and the ability to rewatch.

    • Offer WC Cyber Program for all students.

    • This will be very different from our spring remote pandemic learning. It will be a primarily asynchronous (student-paced), flexible schedule with some synchronous (live) interaction taught by our own West Chester Area School District teachers. This is a program we've been building for more than a year, and it follows best practices in distance learning.

    • Enrollment is now open for elementary, middle, and high school. Enrollment will run through August 7th.

    • We will reassess the situation regularly, and evaluate every three weeks beginning September 25.

    • Plan for a change to potentially occur for all students after the Thanksgiving break (around the end of the first marking period.)

    • A plan to provide remote education for students who may have to be quarantined.
