Letter from the Principal
Welcome to Hillsdale! We’re glad you are here!
Dear Hillsdale Students and Families,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Hillsdale Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families. My official start date at Hillsdale is Monday August 5, but Mrs. Pecorella and I are working hard this month to make for a smooth transition.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-five years. I have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 8th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a special education and regular education teacher, a K-5 Math Resource teacher, and a K-5 Instructional Coach as well as a Middle School Assistant Principal. Most recently, I have served as one of the Assistant Principals at Stetson Middle School. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Hillsdale Elementary School and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.
On a personal note, my husband and I have lived in the West Chester area for over 15 years. My son just graduated from WC East High School and is off to University of South Carolina this fall while my daughter will be a junior at WC East. We love West Chester and all this community offers. We are proud to be part of the West Chester Area School District, one that values high standards by providing rich learning experiences for all students.
I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of Hillsdale this year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to meeting you soon!
