Basic Facts About East Goshen Elementary
Located in beautiful Chester County, Pennsylvania, East Goshen Elementary School is one of 10 elementary schools in the West Chester Area School District. Built in 1955, East Goshen Elementary School is home to approximately 600 students and a dedicated staff of teachers, support staff and parents. A 1995 renovation included the addition of special rooms for Science, Art, Music, a Computer Lab, a Library Media Center and a new Gymnasium.
East Goshen enjoys an active Home and School Association and has been selected as one of the national winners in the category of Parent/Community involvement in Redbook Magazine's "America's Best Schools Project." In 2000, East Goshen was a recipient of the state Department of Education's Maintenance of High Standards Award, which includes grant money. Governer Tom Ridge announced on Nov. 14 more than $15 million in performance-incentive grants to schools that improved test scores on state assessment tests, improved attendance rates, or sustained overall general high standards.
