Doubles Pickleball Tournament

Creative Drawing Clubs with Young Rembrandts in WCASD elementary schools
Fall 2026: 10 to 13 weeks starting the week of 9/14
In an age dominated by screens, Young Rembrandts provides a unique, hands-on approach to art education that engages both sides of the brain. Club is open to all students starting with Kindergarten- there is no math nor reading, participants will draw and color a new lesson every week with step-by-step instruction from our staff. Students will develop and improve fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and critical thinking, all while building confidence and fostering creativity.
Clubs meet in the school building until 4:15 or 4:45pm, depending on dismissal time. At the end of club students are either picked up by an adult at the school's main entrance or transferred to ACP, in accordance with each family's plan.

Helping Girls Build Confidence, Leadership, And Life Skills
Saturday, September 26, 2026 to May 15, 2027
Wonderfully Me is a girls' empowerment and mentoring program for girls ages 8 to 17 in Chester County, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas.
The program helps girls build confidence, leadership, healthy relationships, coping and life skills, decision-making skills, and positive goals. Topics include friendships, self-expression, self-esteem, healthy relationships, social media, body acceptance, coping skills, decision making, goal setting, and life skills.
Program dates run from Saturday, September 26, 2026 through May 15, 2027. Sessions are listed as 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Location information will be provided. New parents and guardians are required to attend a virtual orientation.

Super Science Saturday 2026
Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Super Science Saturday is a free, one-day STEM experience for girls in grades 4–12, designed to inspire students to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and to help them see themselves as future scientists and STEM professionals. Everyone is welcome!
Throughout the day, students will:
- Participate in multiple hands-on STEM activities
- Meet and learn from WCU faculty, college students, and women working in STEM careers
- Explore different STEM fields and career possibilities
- Work in small, age-appropriate groups with WCU student mentors
- Participate in a Q&A and raffle prizes
The event is completely free, and lunch is provided for all participants.
Adaptive Social Circle
Mondays: 5:30 - 6:30 pm
Adaptive Social Circle is a unified social skills program designed for individuals with and without disabilities to connect, grow, and build meaningful friendships in a supportive and inclusive environment. Activities are developmentally appropriate and tailored to meet the social-emotional needs of participants through games, music and movement, guided discussions, and collaborative experiences. This program promotes empathy, communication, and belonging, while celebrating each person’s unique abilities and strengths.

Respite Recreation
Friday, October 23rd: 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Program participants will engage in enriching and intentionally curated fine and gross motor recreational activities each session. Activities will support social skill development, build confidence and self-esteem, and promote pride and success
through achievement, while in a supportive, fun, and nurturing environment. Our program is designed to provide a positive experience for children and adults with developmental and social disabilities while also providing temporary relief and respite for families and caregivers.

Mondays: 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
An inclusive, adaptive art program open to teens of all abilities, and intentionally designed to support those who benefit from sensory supports, structure, and a flexible environment. Participants explore creativity through open-ended projects and choice-based art stations, using materials like paint, drawing, music, and mixed media. This process-focused program emphasizes self expression, confidence, and independence while incorporating opportunities to build self-regulation and focus through creative experiences. No prior art experience needed - just come ready to create in a way that works for you.

Keystone Chess Academy After-School Chess Clubs
Fall 2026: for 11 weeks, starting the Week of Sept 21
Keystone Chess Academy is offering after-school elementary chess clubs at Penn Wood, Exton, Greystone, Fern Hill, and Glen Acres elementary schools beginning the week of September 21.
Clubs are open to all skill levels and include structured chess instruction, supervised games, puzzles, and all equipment needed during club sessions. Enrollment is limited to 20 students per club.

Repair Cafe

Bring your beloved but broken items to Repair Café Downingtown and learn how to repair them instead of throwing them away. Volunteer Repair Coaches will be available to help with items such as clothing, toys, bikes, electronics, jewelry, and small mechanical or electrical items. Looking for a fun activity this fall? Join our Fall Recreational Fast Pitch Softball League, the perfect opportunity for players of all experience levels to build skills, make friends, and enjoy the game in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Practices are Mondays/Tuesdays, depending on age group, beginning the week of August 31, 2026.
Games are on Saturdays, from September 12 through October 24, 2026.
Healthy Kids Running Series
Sundays 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25 @ 4:00 pm
Healthy Kids Running Series is a five-week running program designed to encourage kids to stay active, build confidence, and have fun through friendly competition. Participants earn points each week, receive a series T-shirt when registered for the full program, and all runners receive a medal at the final race. The West Chester series takes place on Sundays from September 27 through October 25 at East Goshen Township Park, with November 1 designated as a rain date. Registration is available online only.

WC Food Cupboard Informational Flyer
The West Chester Food Cupboard provides a variety of quality food to support a balanced and healthy diet and recently revised the income guidelines regarding who is eligible for assistance. Eligible families can come once a month and receive about two weeks of groceries free of charge, and stop by the Express Store on Monday and Friday for additional food.
