West Chester HOOPS Rec Basketball is now taking registration for it's Winter Season which starts 12/2 and ends 2/14. This is open to:
Boys: 1st grade through 8th grade
Girls: 1st grade through 2nd grade
all games and practices take place at WCASD Schools.
Registration closes on 9/30/24

Dressage at Devon Dressage Explorers Day is Sunday September 29 from 10 am - 1 pm. There are many activities and beautiful horses to see.
University of Penn will also be there to talk with high school students interested in applying to Vet School. -
The West Chester Public Library is holding CHESS CLUB every Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm beginning 9/7 for ages 5-15—no registration required. Have fun learning the game of chess, or getting some serious practice with Coach Chuck Shaw. The library is located at 415 North Church Street, West Chester.

The West Goshen Township Park and Recreation Department would like to invite WCASD Families to attend their FREE FALL MOVIES series at West Goshen Community Park. Movies will run every Saturday at 6 pm from 9/21 through 10/19. All guests are encouraged to bring a dry good item (soap, shampoo, diapers, toilet paper, laundry detergent) for the West Chester Food Cupboard.

Call all girls K-5 at East Goshen, Exton, and Glen Acres. Registration is now open for Girls Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania. The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center presents "Girls in Aviation Day" on Saturday, September 21st, from 11 am to 3 pm. Come out and meet aviation professionals, and The "Whirly Girls". There will be hands-on activities, Drone demonstrations, and Aviation career panels. The first 100 girls will receive a gift.

Asha-Jyothi has opened registration for their 6th Annual Run/Walk on Sunday, September 22nd, at 8:30 a.m. at West Goshen Park. There will be Face Painting, Dancing/Zumba, a photo booth, and lots of refreshments.

Gameday Athletics is hosting a Friday Night Lights Dodgeball League for kids in grades 1-8. Dodgeball helps to improve speed, agility, balance, and coordination in a fun & comptetive way! League begins September 20.

The CCIU is hosting its annual College Fair on Monday, October 14th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Come out and meet with colleges and institutions. You can also learn about post-secondary options and set your goals. Admission is FREE

East Goshen Park is inviting all teens to participate in it's annual "Art Walk and Teen Art Competition" on Saturday, September 28th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This years theme will be "Embracing our Difference". All mediums are welcome.

West Chester University is running a Summer Basketball Camp for ages 6 through 15 years of age. There are several sessions throughout the summer beginning June 17th. All classes will be held at Hollinger Field House on campus.

Shoes for the Homeless Volunteer Youth Ambassador Program is open to all students aged 13 to 18. They can earn 24+ community service hours, learn leadership skills, and build their college resume' by helping the homeless in their area.

The Girl Scouts of Eastern PA is inviting students at Glen Acres and Exton Elementary to join them at any time. Have fun with friends, make new adventures and make a difference.

The West Chester Food Cupboard provides a variety of quality food to support a balanced and healthy diet and recently revised the income guidelines regarding who is eligible for assistance. Eligible families can come once a month and receive about two weeks of groceries free of charge, and stop by the Express Store on Monday and Friday for additional food. The Baptist Church will help if you need transportation.
