What is the SAT?
The SAT is a globally recognized college admission test that lets you show colleges what you know and how well you can apply that knowledge. It tests knowledge of reading, writing, and math — subjects that are taught every day in high school classrooms. Most students take the SAT during their junior or senior year of high school, and almost all colleges and universities use the SAT to make admission decisions.
Understanding Scores
SAT scores from tests given before March 2016 are reported on a scale from 200–800, with additional subscores reported for the essay (ranging from 2–12) and for multiple-choice writing questions (on a 20 - 80 scale).
• WCASD students score well-above state and national averages.
• The Reading and Writing portions of the SAT have combined into one section- Evidence-Based Reading and Writing.
• The “new" SAT was administered for the first time in March 2016. Students still had the option to take the "old".
