What is the ACT?
The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. The ACT with writing includes the four subject area tests plus a 40-minute writing test. Results are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the US.
What is the ACT Composite Score?
A student’s Composite score and each test score (English, Mathematics, Reading, Science) range from 1 (low) to 36 (high). The Composite Score is the average of four test scores, rounded to the nearest whole number. Fractions less than one-half are rounded down; fractions one-half or more are rounded up.
• ACT participation in the WCASD is at an all-time high.
• Average ACT composite and subject scores continue to surpass state averages.
• In 2017, all ACT Average ACT composite and subject scores were at all-time high levels in the WCASD
