    AP Abigail DoughertyMs. Abigail Dougherty, who grew up in Springfield, Delaware County, recently relocated back to the area from Central Pennsylvania. 

    Ms. Dougherty holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a Pennsylvania Teaching Certification for 7-12 grade from Shippensburg University. She taught 10th, 11th, and 12th grade English in The School District of the City of York. She also holds a Master of English from Southern New Hampshire University, a Master of Education in Urban School Leadership with her Pennsylvania Administrative Certification from Temple University, and a Master of Education in Multicultural Education from Eastern University. Ms. Dougherty served as a Tiered Support Team Leader in The School District of Lancaster and most recently was a High School Assistant Principal in the Harrisburg School District. 

    Ms. Dougherty is excited to join the team at West Chester East High School and develop new ways to support students in their individual educational and personal journeys. When asked about what she is most passionate about she stated that she is focused on equity and providing students the opportunities to see themselves as capable, excellent individuals that challenge the world in which they live for the betterment of all. 

    Ms. Dougherty currently lives in Springfield with her husband, three children, and three rescue pups: Smokey, Ghost, and Duke.
