This dashboard shows the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among staff (including non-district, contracted personnel) and students, broken down by schools. To ensure our community is provided with the most recent and accurate information, the COVID-19 Dashboard is updated every Friday after the close of schools. In accordance with the Chester County Health Department (CCHD), the WCASD works diligently to ensure that proper guidelines are followed whenever confirmation of a positive COVID-19 case is received.
Per the CCHD, contact tracing is only required whenever a positive case is reported with the following exceptions:
- Proof of vaccination, or
- If both the infected student and close contact(s) were properly wearing masks and maintained at least 3 feet of social distance.
In the event of a positive COVID-19 case that results in close contact(s) quarantining, our school principals will send a communication their school community notifying them of the case after all close contacts have been informed. When a positive case does not require any close contact quarantining, the case is simply added to the dashboard with the weekly updates. This is different from last school year, when a majority of reported cases did require contact tracing, per the CCHD. As all of our students are currently required to wear masks in schools, this has greatly reduced the number of close contact quarantining in comparison to last school year.
