Professional development is an important aspect of the growth and improvement for all staff members. The West Chester Area School District believes in and totally supports a consistent, timely and progressive program for all constituents within our District. The West Chester Area School District also believes that professional development is the responsibility of all staff members, as with all professional vocations. In order to remain current in our rapidly changing and expanding profession, we must continually update and sharpen our skills to deal with the many challenges of educating our children. Consequently, part of that professional responsibility includes attending all workshops for the entire time the workshop is held, reporting on time to the workshops, listening attentively and providing honest, constructive feedback to your supervisor(s) or Act 48 representative. Therefore, we are asking all professionals to follow these guidelines for all professional development workshops whether scheduled on site or off-site. In closing, please know that the West Chester Area School District will continue to work closely with your Act 48 committee representatives to plan and implement quality staff development programs. We ask for your continued cooperation with this effort. |
