Be Part of the Big Canvas Regional Dialogue
Here is a unique opportunity for you and your family to help shape a dialogue that will impact the arts and culture in our region. The West Chester Area School District proudly represents a community that is an important part of a vibrant and growing collection of cultural and artistic centers in and around Philadelphia. Uncertain resources and changing priorities force difficult decisions that sometimes create even more uncertainty. Now is your chance to have your voice heard as part of the Great Expectations Initiative.
Great Expectations is a joint project of The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Project for Civic Engagement at the University of Pennsylvania, and is funded by the William Penn Foundation and The Lenfest Foundation. A regional dialogue called “The Big Canvas” hopes to engage people from our community to lend their opinions by featuring five citizen forums around the region.
One of those events will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd, from 6:30PM to 9:30PM at People’s Light & Theatre Company, 39 Conestoga Road in Malvern, off Route 401 between Routes 202 and 30.
This and other locations can be found on the informational flyer, posted below. Registration can be accomplished by going to the website, www.greatexpectations07.com and clicking the link for ‘The Big Canvas’, or by calling 215-854-5956.
We encourage all residents of our district to participate in this important project to develop a citizen-driven set of principles and proposals to support arts and culture in our five county region.
