Students Participate in Great PA Clean Up
Dr. Marc Bertrando, Principal at West Chester B. Reed Henderson High School, led a group of dedicated students in support of the Melton Community Center and the East End project on Saturday, April 26th. The “Great PA Clean Up” in West Chester and the East End saw 30 residents of the area come out, but this year the new helping hand from WC Henderson High School made a real difference.
Dan Price, Elm Street Manager and the East End Association, who headed up the cleanup event, said, “Each person contributed a great deal and our participation grew significantly from previous Clean Ups.”
The Melton Community Center is establishing new relationships within the community and initiated an effort to take its relationship with the West Chester Area School District to a new level. Stephen E. Bond, who has strong ties to both the Center and the School District, was also a big part of the event.
It is the hope of the Elm Street Program to continue this effort in the fall and raise the visibility of such events similar to that which was enjoyed by Philadelphia earlier in April.
The district’s appreciation goes to the Henderson crew and Dr. Bertrando for taking a stand to make a visible difference right here in our own community!
