District Teachers Present at National Conference
“A Practical Approach to a Push-In FLES (Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools) Program” is the topic of discussion led by four district FLES teachers at The Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (NECTFL).
Elementary Spanish teachers Lynn Martin (Hillsdale), Michelle Swope (East Goshen), Erin Sola (Mary C. Howse) and Jennifer Greene (Penn Wood) will present many tried and true activities that have been implemented in our district elementary schools. Attendees will be provided with sample lessons and instructions on how to incorporate fresh ideas into their existing elementary language programs.
Dedicated to supporting all foreign language educators, NECTFL is the oldest multi-language association of pre-kindergarten through university teachers in the country. Each year, approximately 40 states and 10 foreign countries send their educators to the conference. The 55th annual conference will be held March 27-29 in New York City.
“After attending the conference last year, we felt that a session such as ours would be beneficial to teachers using a push-in method. We are very excited to be a part of NECTFL and hope that this presentation will lead to many more in our future!” states Lynn Martin.
