School Board Adopts 2007-08 Final Budget
At a special meeting on Monday, June 11, 2007, the West Chester Area School Board adopted a final 2007-08 budget totaling $185,642,041.
The budget sets the real estate tax rate for district residents of Chester County at 15.79 mills, or $15.79 for every $1,000 of assessed valuation. The real estate tax rate for residents of Thornbury Township, Delaware County, is set at 11.87 mills, or $11.87 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.
In addition, the budget retains the existing deed transfer tax of 0.5% and the existing earned income tax at 1%. Half of the earned income tax is shared with the municipality in which each district resident resides.
