Gifted Program
The West Chester
Area School District supports gifted education for elementary,
middle and high school students who have been identified
as eligible for gifted support.
At the elementary level,
gifted resource teachers (GRT) provide enrichment and acceleration
in L.A. and mathematics and thematic enrichment units for
students.
In the middle school,
6th grade students are eligible for possible placement
in an accelerated English and/or Math course. An enrichment
program is housed
in each school and offered on a rotating schedule.
At the high school level,
a variety of options are available: Socratic discussion,
career planning and shadowing and mentoring programs.
