The Facilities and Operations
Department, headed by director Kevin A. Campbell, is headquartered
in
a separate building
at 1181 McDermott Dr., West Goshen Township. From this building,
a staff of approximately 140 employees oversees the district’s
entire physical plant. All repairs, improvements and renovations
to the district’s 10 elementary schools, three middle
schools, and three high schools as well as to the Spellman
Administration Building are coordinated through Facilities
and Operations.
A grounds crew keeps fields and other
outside areas mowed and neatly trimmed in the warm weather
months. Driveways
and parking areas are plowed and kept clear of ice in the
winter. Minor building repairs are completed by the maintenance
crew. Major capital projects, including the secondary schools’ expansion
and renovations program, are contracted out, with the Facilities
and Operations Department responsible for overseeing them.
A warehouse in the Facilities and Operations
Building stores some of the district’s supplies,
including salt for the winter months and mulch and growing
materials for spring
and summer. District-owned cars and maintenance equipment,
including mowers and plows, are stored on the property when
not in use. A repair crew keeps this equipment running. The
district copy center, housed in the building, serves all
schools and the Central Administration.

are available for use by the outside public under district-set
policies
